'New OHM CD release date set' posted Friday, Aug 12, 2005

It’s hot…that’s to be expected when you live so close to the epicenter of all things blistering and boiling. How ironic that this update smacks of the last summer update exactly one year ago today…scroll down and see for yourself. Speaking of blistering and boiling, Tues. October 18th 2005 has been cast as the release date of the new OHM: record titled, "Amino Acid Flashback". While the bands first release had more of a “stop on a dime precision” and laboratory sterility, this record has more of a live, natural and organic feel to it. Recorded at the bands Glass House Studios, with tenured co-producer Petar Sardelich, this record promises to be the most innovative and staggering work that Chris has ever laid onto tape. Chris says, “This record is more like you would hear OHM: live, we just let the machines roll and we played…” From the artwork to the production to Chris, Pag and Kofi’s beautifully executed sonic assault, everything about this record is warm and inviting. A whirlwind of emotion will pick you up and sweep you off of your feet… Tour plans for the band will follow shortly. Stay tuned…at least tuned low and keep coming back for more information on Chris Poland and OHM:!!!!!!!!

Hey there, it’s been a while, as I’m sure most of you have noticed. We were done with our 2004 releases a while ago and have been busy working on our 2005 schedule. As the year is quickly spiraling to its end, we look back on our inaugural year, and are grateful for being given the opportunity to work with such an amazing artist like Chris Poland and his band mates in OHM:.

What has been an even bigger treat is being able to watch OHM: live several times this year and always leaving in awe. Watching OHM: live is like sitting in front of a piece of fine art. What do you discuss first? All of the artistic conventions employed on the particular piece? What was/is the artist trying to say and how? What does this piece of art mean to society as a whole and how does it impact humanity? And more importantly, what does this mean to me? Well at least that’s the way we feel about watching OHM:

2005 promises to be an exciting year for Blacknote Records. OHM: will release their second studio record with the sonic-stratification-master-general, Petar Sardelich, twirling the knobs with the band again. With a mid 2005 street date, the band will follow up with a tour to support the record as always.

Being that we are a communal record company, we all assume the position of A&R. Our UPS driver, our web-guy, the grounds keeper, we all do A&R so if you hear something we might be interested in, we DO accept unsolicited material. Send to Dick Shitleberg, A&R director, P.O. Box 56 Upland, Ca. 91786. Who knows, you may lay claim to the next American Idol.

On behalf of the staff and families of Blacknote Records we wish you all a prosperous and meaningful New Year.

Until next time…the Blacknote Family

The dog days of summer... the time of year when all of your favorite bands are out bringing their traveling road shows to a venue near you. The time of year that always brings back childhood memories of sitting on the sidewalk, bomb-pop in hand dripping red, white and blue fused ice cream into all the cracks and crevices in your hand. Time to fuel up the family car, pile in and take a road trip to a destination far away enough to be exotic yet close enough to still be remote.

Unfortunately, we've been instilled with the dubious luxury of making sure that those road trips, family reunions, so on and so forth, are all interwoven with one common theme. background music for the tumultuous, drunken melees that always seem to ensue. Chris Poland and crew wouldn't have it any other way. Not by any stretch of the imagination are we saying that OHM is background music to a bar fight.because
it's not. It would be more along the lines of beautifully arranged music for your drunken uncle Jimmy to singe all of his body hair off while, igniting the above mentioned BBQ to.

That being said, your extended family here at Blacknote Records are keeping busy making sure all of our proverbial ducks are in a row. Chris Poland and OHM continue to be our priority here during the day as we spend our nights out courting new talent. It's a hard knocked life.but someone has to do it. Keep your eyes peeled for
a Chris interview in the Oct. issue of Guitar World magazine and in the Nov. issue a track on a compilation that is included with that months issue.

Lastly, don't forget to go to the Blacknote Records message board and share your thoughts with us.we've got nothing better to do anyhow. Keep in mind that Blacknote Records does accept unsolicited material. Send all correspondence to:
